That was the case with the Obey River, until 75 years ago. This year, the construction project that tamed the Obey, and provided a fantastic recreational area is being celebrated. Tennessee has more than it's share of beautiful rivers. They're less beautiful when they overflow their banks and destroy lives and property. That was the case with the Obey (OBEE) river, until 75 years ago. This year, the construction project that tamed the Obey, and provided a fantastic recreational area is being celebrated.

Tours for the general public are scheduled June 16, June 30, Sept. 15, Sept. 29 and Oct. 20. Each tour will begin at 9am, 10am, 11am and 12 noon Central Standard Time. A security background check will be required for all participants over the age of 16.
