Becoming an artist doesn’t necessarily mean you have to invest in expensive supplies or even art lessons. Charles Haston began painting at the tender age of 55, with brushes from Walmart, and never looked back. Tennessee Crossroads traveled to McMinville, TN to meet the man known there as “The Artistic Judge”.

Charles Haston began painting at the tender age of 55, with brushes from Walmart, and never looked back. Susan Watson traveled to McMinville to meet the man known there as "The Artistic Judge".

Susan Watson has been involved with Tennessee Crossroads, both behind and in front of the camera, since 1988. A Middle Tennessee native, Watson studied Spanish in high school and became interested in Mexican culture. She occasionally traveled to Mexico to teach English to middle-school children.
