The Cookeville Train Depot is a museum with memorabilia from the Tennessee Central Railroad, including a locomotive and 2 cabooses. Built in 1909, nearly demolished in mid 70's, the city bought it for $1. Several groups refurbished it. Now, it has lots of pictures of depots and bridges, lanterns, flags. The two story structure and adjoining grist Mill were built just outside Smithville, TN by State Senator Edgar Evins. He entertained a lot of powerful people there, and now a Nashville, TN family owns the property and they've turned it into a rustic special event destination.
