"The Whole is Greater than the Sum of its Parts" is a quote attributed to the Greek philosopher Aristotle. It could also describe the works of Nashville, TN native Alice Shepard. Alice, who has a degree in philosophy, combines engine parts with kiln-fired glass to create a medium she calls Artwork Cubed.
